There must be a reason, if you are looking for a Slido alternative. See if any of those reasons are the same as yours.
Hard to Understand
For many people, it’s hard to use slido without making any mistakes. The user interface can be challenging, especially on the side of the event organizer or speaker.
Limited Free Version
The free version of slido only allows for a very small number of questions and other activities before you have to upgrade. This is often not enough to properly test the software.
Limited Q&A Functionality
The Q&A functionality is lacking in a many aspects. You can not co-host events, there is no option to group questions, no way to give yourself a nickname. And most important of all, no real moderation and no possibility to continue a discussion.
Technical Limitations
For a lot of people, especially the browser versions seems to be very slow and to even crash sometimes. The view of the moderator is very slow to synchronize with the view of the participants.
High Costs
Especially the event-based plans can be very pricey. The most popular plan costs 50 € / month.

What our Customers Think
Maximilian A. – See this review on Capterra
Pros: Great visualization, easy to use, gives a good structure to questions and answers, interactive search works really well.
Cons: Some of the developers I talked to would be happy about a dark mode
Alternatives Considered: Mentimeter
Switched From: Slido
Reasons for Switching to schnaq: Questions and answers are still present after the event is over.
Tim L. – See this review on Capterra
Overall: It became easier and more comfortable (especially during the current pandemic) to organise exercise and question hours. Interaction with the students is simplified and it allows a better communication with everyone.
Pros: – Great Design – Easy to use – Interactive and good for communicating within a larger group
Cons: – The only option I’m missing for lectures purposes would be a pop up quiz, which reveals the correct answers at the end. Similar to an online test.
